CV Andrés Merida

Andrés Merida’s work has been evolving from the beginning with influences from the expressionist and surrealist movements creating a universe and style that easily identifies him.

In the first decade of this century he travels to the US and Mexico for long periods, where he performs several exhibitions and begins to experiment with live painting performances in interaction with other artists.

On the technical level, Merida is experimenting with digital art combining it with traditional techniques and in the aesthetic sense he is introducing a new expression in his works through what he calls Garabatism, the result of several years of research and influences of artists such as Giacometti and Jackson Pollock.

His last major project is the collaboration on the scenography of the show Sombras by dancer Sara Baras.
